Powerkleen Floor Machines has been in the janitorial services and equipment business for over four decades. Our family-owned company has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to commercial and industrial floor scrubbers. Common questions we get from customers are listed here. Company FAQ

What does refurbished mean?

Industry-wide, frankly, not much of anything, but in our family-run shop, it’s different. We know what it costs to own and operate a business. We know how frustrating weeks of downtime can be. We know how expensive factory-authorized service is. We know money is hard-earned and value is hard-created.

We know when you pay more for refurbished, it’s because you rightfully expect a lasting result. WE DELIVER. In our shop, refurbished means we take only the cleanest, newest floor scrubbers that are in the best physical, electrical and mechanical shape, and we give them a full and complete processing for performance, durability and aesthetics.

What type of services do you perform?

We only sell a few models that we know very well, and we service every serviceable component on each of those units. Our service includes:

  • Grease all fittings

  • Verify & update all connections, cables & wire harnesses

  • Replace all wearable components, service drives & motors

  • Disassemble & test gearboxes, motor windings, commutators, carbon brushes, magnets

  • Replace worn actuators

  • Test all switches & buttons under load

  • Bench-test the battery charger Install new batteries

  • Change all the squeegees & hoses

  • Service the hydraulic & water feed solenoid systems

  • Inspect & service the wheels

  • Replace the seat

  • Change filters

  • Steam-clean the whole assembly

  • Remove & treat any corrosion

  • Touch-up & performance test

  • And much more!

How do I get delivery?

We ask for 5-7 business days from payment to delivery, which allows for final performance testing and any shipping delays. Because we ship all of our floor scrubbers out of our Kentucky facility, most Eastern states experience 1-3 day shipping and Western states run 3-7 days. We often have pieces available for same-day or next-day pickup or regional delivery. If you have a specific need, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you!

Regional deliveries arrive via cargo trailer with a ground level “drive off ramp”. Freight deliveries require a commercial dock with semi-truck access or may include a “lift gate” and/or “non-commercial address” fee. If you do not have a commercial dock where you can receive the equipment, call us and we will work out the most economical shipment possible for you. Shipping is never really free, but we do cover as much as possible in the modest $150 we charge. If you would like to pick up your machine at our Powerkleen location in Winchester, KY, $150 shipping will be refunded to you.

What if I need service/warranty/out-of-warranty help?

Two of the reasons we focus on Tennant floor scrubbers, and these models in particular, is parts availability and ease of diagnostics. Anything on these machines that is user-serviceable can be done with no or minimal tools. Any necessary diagnostics can be done rapidly over the phone or with an in-person service call as needed with the onboard diagnostics and a simple voltmeter.

We offer a “reasonable warranty”. We ask that an operator or other capable person give several minutes on the phone with our technician to define the problem. Most of the time, it’s a very simple matter or adjustment. If we cannot reasonably diagnose and resolve the issue by phone, we will send a technician out and/or return the machine to our shop for rapid service.

If you are out of warranty, our technical phone support is free, and the parts are provided at cost with no markup. We get 10-75% off most parts and we always pass that savings on to you.

If you require more field support, reach out to us to see what we can do to help. We love our customers and will do all we can for the lifetime you own the equipment. However, please note that we do NOT pay or reimburse for rental floor scrubbers. We also do NOT pay or reimburse for technicians or repairs we have not arranged for. These costs are often astronomical and exaggerated, and are not part of our business plan nor our warranty. If you are in a mission-critical application, ask us about arranging a low-cost backup machine.

Floor Scrubber Battery FAQ

Lead-Acid vs. Lithium

What is the main difference between Lead-Acid and Lithium batteries?

Maintenance and Efficiency:

- Lead-Acid batteries are an older technology that requires regular physical "watering" (adding distilled water to cells) and long, uninterrupted charging cycles.

- Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries are "set it and forget it." They are lighter, charge faster, and require zero internal maintenance.

Why does our company specialize in Lithium?

We believe your team should spend their time cleaning floors, not managing battery chemistry. We specialize in lithium because it offers the lowest Total Cost of Ownership. While the upfront cost is higher, the lifespan is 3–5 times longer than lead-acid, and you eliminate the labor costs (and safety risks) associated with battery watering and acid spills.

Do I really have to "water" lead-acid batteries?

Yes. Lead-acid batteries lose water during the charging process. If you forget to refill them, the internal plates dry out and the battery fails prematurely. Lithium batteries are completely sealed and never require water.

How do the charge times compare?

• Lead-Acid: Usually requires 8–10 hours for a full charge. They also suffer from "memory effect," meaning you shouldn't stop a charge halfway through.

• Lithium: Can be fully charged in 2–3 hours. They also support opportunity charging—you can plug them in during a 30-minute lunch break to get extra run time without damaging the battery.

Which one lasts longer during a shift?

Lithium provides a consistent power output throughout the entire cycle. A lead-acid battery often loses "omph" (voltage drop) as it gets lower, causing the scrubber motors to run slower. Lithium stays at full power until the battery is nearly empty.

"If your cleaning crew is juggling multiple shifts, Lithium is the only way to go. You can charge the machine between tasks, effectively giving you a 24-hour cleaning window with a single machine."

Product FAQ

T7 Standard vs. T7 AMR (manual configuration)

What is the difference between the T7 Standard and the T7 AMR (manual configuration)?

The T7 Standard is our primary recommendation for most facilities and comes in the traditional Tennant configuration. The T7 AMR manual version uses the same industrial T7 chassis and scrubbing system, but the autonomous robotics software has been professionally disabled so it operates as a standard ride-on scrubber.

Does the T7 AMR manual version clean differently than the standard T7?

No. Both machines use the same Tennant T7 platform, meaning you still get the same industrial scrubbing performance, recovery system, and overall durability. The difference is simply that the AMR’s autonomous function is disabled and the machine is operated manually.

Why are the manual T7 AMR units available?

We acquire these machines in large volume lots, which allows us to offer them as manual ride-on scrubbers once the autonomous system is disabled. This provides customers access to the proven T7 platform in a configuration that fits more operational requirements.

Can the autonomous feature be reactivated later?

In most cases, autonomous functionality would require Tennant software activation, mapping, and service agreements through Tennant or an authorized AMR partner. If your facility plans to use robotics in the future, you may want to discuss that directly with Tennant.

Who is the T7 AMR manual configuration best for?

This option works well for facilities that:

Prefer a traditional operator-controlled scrubber

Want the proven Tennant T7 platform

Do not need autonomous navigation features

Common environments include warehouses, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and large commercial buildings.

Are the machines refurbished?

Yes. Each unit is professionally refurbished, tested, and inspected before delivery to ensure reliable operation in demanding commercial environments.

How do I choose between the T7 Standard and the T7 AMR manual version?

If you want the traditional Tennant configuration, the T7 Standard is our top recommendation.

If you prefer a streamlined manual configuration built on the same T7 platform, the T7 AMR manual version is an excellent alternative.

If you’re unsure which is right for your facility, our team can help guide you.

This is our first floor cleaner purchased for a 30,000 square foot building. We should have done this sooner. It came to us just as it was described. We are a company that focuses on customer service, it is refreshing to work with a company like Robey’s that treats us like we treat our customers. They did a video meeting before the purchase to help us choose which machine, and they have made several follow-up calls since it was delivered. There is no reason to purchase new. Great company to work with, we will be purchasing from them again.

We bought our used T7 floor machine 4 years ago. It has been a great machine. We recently had some problems and just like when we bought it origally the absolute best service. Simon was great in helping us get it up and running again. I have never had the quality of service from any company that Simon provided, getting us the part and patiently guiding us through the removal and reinstallation. If i could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you Simon and Powerkleen.
